- Q. Touch 'n Go vs GrabPay — which should be my main?
- A. For everyday use, Touch 'n Go eWallet is the recommended main. It has the widest coverage — highway tolls, parking, hawker stalls, convenience stores — and DuitNow QR works at almost any shop. GrabPay is more of a supplement for those who want to keep rides and food delivery inside Grab. Start with TNG and add GrabPay if needed.
- Q. Can I top up an e-wallet with a Japanese credit card?
- A. Sometimes. Touch 'n Go may reject direct top-ups with a Visa/Mastercard; in that case, DuitNow / FPX top-up from a local bank account is the reliable route. Before you open an account, cash top-up at convenience stores (e.g. 7-Eleven) or using a Wise local account number is practical.
- Q. Can I use an e-wallet without a bank account?
